CAIRO – 19 June 2018: An Egyptian resort in the North Coast has witnessed a horrible drowning accident on Sunday as a youth swimming off the resort’s beach has been sucked by its uncovered circulatory system.

Witnesses said they heard a guy in the sea crying for help as he was sucked into an uncovered lagoon disposal vent, which moves water from the sea to the resort’s artificial lake. Social media activists have sharply censured the resort for not taking sufficient cautionary procedures.

The youth, Ahmed Wasfy, was stuck in the opening of the system with his head submersed under water, according to some reports, until the circulatory system was switched off after about 15 minutes.

Unfortunately, Wasfy was brought out of the sea after he had lost his life.

A witness told Al-Dostour that the sophisticated resort does not have any doctors, and that the rescuers were not sufficiently trained to deal with such critical situations.
