CAIRO – 6 June 2018: Egyptian Minister of Local Development, Abu Bakr el Gendy, handed the Cabinet Tuesday the evaluation reports of the current governors’ performances in a step preceding a possible governors’ reshuffle, sources in the ministry told El Shorouk newspaper.

The sources excluded any changes in border cities' governors thanks to these governors' experience in handling the borders with the neighboring states and the stability of the cities under their watch.

The sources revealed that the potential reshuffle is likely to take place before mid-June, adding that several names are being studied by the government before it officially announces the new governors.

Egyptian President Abdel Fatah al Sisi issued a Presidential decree on Tuesday to keep the current governors and their deputies, although their term officially ended by the end of Sisi’s first presidential term on Saturday.
