RAMALLAH - 27 May 2018: Director of the Istishari Hospital in Ramallah Saeed Sarahneh said on Sunday that the health of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has been rapidly improving following one week of hospitalization for lung infection and reports of his suffering from pneumonia.

He said the results of new health checks on Abbas showed he has gradually been getting well to normal averages.

Sarahneh said the medical staff overseeing the Palestinian president’s health condition did not yet give a date for his discharge from hospital, noting that it all depends on the results of his day-to-day health checks.

Abbas was admitted to hospital a week ago after he was diagnosed with lung infection. Five days before that he had undergone an ear surgery.
