CAIRO - 17 May 2018: The transfer of the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem shows a clear bias against the rights of the Palestinian people, Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al Jubeir said on Thursday.

Addressing the opening session of an extraordinary meeting of the Arab foreign ministers, Jubeir warned of serious repercussions of the US decision, saying that it provokes the feelings of Muslims everywhere.

Today's meeting is of great importance as it is held at a critical time after the US inaugurated its embassy in Jerusalem, the top Saudi diplomat noted.

Jubeir also expressed his sorrow over the killing of a number of Palestinians in the protests launched against the US embassy relocation.

Saudi Arabia totally rejects the US decision and will continue to support the Palestinian people in their bid to attain their legitimate rights, he noted.

Jubeir slammed the targeting of Palestinian civilians by the Israeli occupation forces and called on the international community to shoulder responsibility towards the Palestinian cause
