CAIRO - 15 May 2018: Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit has strongly denounced Israeli massacres against the defenseless Palestinians, terming Israeli occupation actions as "war crimes".

The Arab conscience should move after dozens of Palestinians have been martyred during participating in the heroic marches calling for freedom, said the AL chief.

Abul Gheit called on the international community to provide protection for the Palestinian people who chose to peaceful struggle for their rights.

For his part, Spokesman for the Secretary-General of the Arab League Mahmoud Afifi affirmed that opening the US embassy in Jerusalem drove the occupation authority to move ahead with using excessive force, saying that the act is considered a green light for Israel to kill the Palestinian people.

The international community is requested to continue its full rejection of the US unilateral policy, which led to a wave of tensions in the region, Afifi said.

Afifi added that the international community is also required to express its solidarity with the Palestinian people to put an end to the massacre that is being carried out in the occupied Gaza Strip in the full view of the world.
