Palestine decries raising of Israeli flag inside Aqsa Mosque

RAMALLAH - 13 May 2018: The Palestinian government’s spokesman condemned the raising of the Israeli flag by Israeli settlers inside Al Aqsa Mosque compound in the occupied East Jerusalem, slamming it as a provocation of Arab sentiments, Wafa news agency reported on Sunday.

Yousef al Mahmoud commented on the provocative tour by around 400 Israelis to Al Aqsa Mosque today morning, saying the day in which settlers raise the flag of Israel inside the holy site is a “black day”.

“What the settlers have done is a heinous crime against our people, our nation, our sanctities and our history,” Mahmoud said in a statement.

The Palestinian official called on the international community and organizations to work for putting an end to the Israeli violations against the Palestinian people and in the occupied lands.
