CAIRO – 9 May 2017: Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry will travel to Accra, the capital of Ghana, on May 10 carrying a message from President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi to Ghananian President Nana Akufo-Addo, Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said in a Tuesday statement.

The message aims to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries and the means of development in all fields, as well as consultation on a number of regional and international issues of common concern.

Egyptian-Ghanaian relations date back to the national liberation movement period in Africa in the 1950s, noted Abu Zeid. He said communication between the two sides is ongoing.
