CAIRO - 9 May 2017: A new archaeological discovery at Tuna el-Gebel in Minya governorate to be unveiled on Saturday, according to the Ministry of Antiquities.

In a press conference next Saturday, Minister of Antiquities, Khaled al-Anany will announce the new discovery in the presence of a number of foreign ambassadors, chiefs of archeological institutes in Egypt, and Minya governor.

Tuna el-Gebel was the necropolis of Khmun (Hermopolis Magna – an ancient city), located in Minya governorate in Middle Egypt.

Moreover, on May 3, a Spanish archaeological expedition discovered a funerary garden in Luxor in Upper Egypt, which reveals the gardening system in ancient Egypt, according to the head of Ancient Egyptian Antiquities Sector, Mahmoud Afifi.
