CAIRO – 9 May 2017: The Prime Minister Sherif Ismail will travel to London in two days on an official visit, which is to commence on Wednesday, 11 May, to participate in an international conference to discuss the situation in Somalia.

The PM said in press releases on Monday that the visit comes within the framework of Egypt’s pivotal role in the African continent, and affirms this important and vital role in the region.

Somalia’s Information Minister Abdel Rahman Amr said on May 5, that the conference will focus on security, political, economic development and relief for drought-affected communities in the country.

In 2012, London hosted the first conference for Somalia, which helped establish a legitimate federal government and then the AU peacekeeping force in much of the country, according to the Somali Times.
