CAIRO- 8 May 2017: A draft proposal has been submitted by parliamentarian Mustafa Bakry to form a national committee to manage the funds and properties of terrorist entities and terrorists. The committee will be headed by the Attorney General.

The committee will include representatives from the general prosecution, national security, Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) and the ministries of foreign affairs, finance, social solidarity, health, education, communications and administrative development.

Representatives from the general intelligence and Accountability State Authority (ASA) will also be included.

Egypt has already established a committee to manage the funds and properties of the Muslim Brotherhood organization, which had been labeled as terrorist organization in 2013 following the ouster of president Mohamed Morsi who hails from the same group.
