Greek Deputy Ambassador encourages nationals to visit Egypt

CAIRO - 7 May 2017: Greek Deputy Ambassador to Cairo Terens Kouik made a gesture of promoting tourism in Egypt by posting a video of his tour at the Giza Pyramids and Khan el-Khalili on YouTube. In the video, posted Friday, Kouik extolled the merits of Egypt and invited his countrymen to visit the country.


Kouik appeared in the YouTube video visiting the Pyramids with a tour guide, admiring the historical monuments. He then posted footage showcasing Cairo's famous Khan el-Khalili market.


Previously, the deputy ambassador expressed his pleasure at a tour of Egypt’s Ministry of Immigration by Minister Nabila Makram, when they met at the ministry’s building.


“I wanted to show that Egypt - Cairo, Alexandria, all the touristic landmarks of this country - is very safe; Egypt is a safe touristic destination,’’ Kouik said during his meeting with Makram, further revealing that he often moved around unescorted by bodyguards. In the YouTube video, he articulated his personal affinity with the country, saying, "I feel Egypt is like my second homeland."
