Cairo - 6 May 2017: The student body (IEEE-HSB RAS Chapter) in the faculty of engineering in Helwan University organised an Auxilio contest to execute and command robots to perform special tasks. The competition will take place on Saturday at the Cairo International Stadium, with 17 teams from 15 different universities.

Auxilio is a Latin word meaning assistance. The Auxilio competition aims to use robots to help patients and people with special needs.

The robot can bring a patient on the bed or the seat and throw trash into a basket. The margin of error for the trash throw must not exceed 5 meters away from the basket. The student activity emphasized training students to achieve this goal during lectures given by the student activity throughout the year.

‘’ Our target is to teach students everything about robots through lectures and workshops. We will make each student understand how to start developing robots so that they can use them to contribute in many fields not just in the industry ’’ said the students participating in the student activity.

The duration of each match between two teams is 6 minutes. Each team consists of 8-10 members. The first prize in the competition is 10,000 EGP, 8,000 EGP for second place and 5,000 pounds for third place. In addition to prominent public figures, the competition will also be attended by food companies to provide free food and refreshments.
