CAIRO – 5 May 2017: Rome police opened an investigation on death threats sent to Roma’s striker Mohamed Salah along with two of his teammates.

Rome’s police were dispatched to the Colosseum area, located in the middle of the city where three effigies draped in Roma t-shirts of Daniele De Rossi, Radja Nainggolan and Mohamed Salah were hung as if they have been immolated, and were accompanied with a banner which read "A warning without offence..Sleep with the lights on."

Italian media outlets claimed that the accident came after the dramatic loss last week which saw Roma suffer a 3-1 defeat to Lazio at the Derby della Capitale .

Salah’s scoring record with Roma reached 17 goals this season and was recently under the observation of the Italy’s giant, A.C. Milan.
