CAIRO – 5 May, 2017: A judge, who shot dead a military conscript in a Cairo district over dispute, is ordered detained Thursday for 15 days pending investigations.

A fight erupted between the judge and the victim outside the judge’s apartment building in Nasr City district, according to the Public Prosecution. The judge released his pistol and shot the conscript, Mo’men, a graduate of the German University in Cairo, causing his instant death.

The incident began when asked a young lady why she was standing at the entrance of his apartment building. The lady phoned her fiancée; the conscript, who came and got into fight with the judge.

Pousy, the lady, said in TV statements that her fiancée’s nose was bleeding and his body was cold, saying he “was already dead before reaching the ambulance.”

The Supreme Judiciary Council agreed to withdraw judicial immunity of the accused judge, who was referred to prosecution.
