CAIRO – 24 March 2018: Saudi Arabia, on Saturday, condemned the bomb explosion that killed two policemen and injured six others in central Alexandria on Saturday.


The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs posted on Twitter its condemnation to the incident, “We strongly denounces and condemns the explosion that took place in Al Moaaskar Al Romani street in Alexandria.”




State TV reported that the improvised explosive device (IED) targeted Alexandria’s security chief, police Major General Mostafa al-Nemr. The explosion took place two days ahead of Egypt’s 2018 presidential election.


The ministry further affirmed the kingdom’s solidarity with Egypt against terrorism and extremism; “We renew our solidarity with our sister country Egypt.”
