CAIRO – 1 May 2017: Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry is heading to the Ugandan capital, Kampala, to discuss bilateral cooperation, the Foreign Ministry said in a Monday statement.

Shoukry will hand over a hand-written message from President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi to him Ugandan counterpart, Yoweri Museveni, Tuesday, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ahmed Abou-Zied said.

The message tackles cooperation developments on the Nile water file between Nile Basin Initiative (NBI) member countries, Abou-Zied said.

Sisi points out in his message the efforts exerted by Uganda, head of the NBI’s ministerial council, to reach a compromise between Nile Basin countries.

Shoukry’s visit aims to following up on Egyptian-Ugandan cooperation, projects being implemented by the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development in Uganda and stances on Africa in general, Abou-Zied said.
