CAIRO – 10 March 2018: Minister of Interior Magdy Abdel Ghaffar appointed Major General Tarek Allam as director of security for the Luxor governorate, replacing Major General Mustafa Salah Eddin.

According to the new Interior Ministry reshuffle, General Allam was officially stripped of his title as a one-year director of security for Northern Cairo.

Major General Mustafa Salah Eddin, who was appointed as the director of security for Luxor last July, was also ordered to take up a senior position in the specialized police forces sector.

Last October, the Ministry of Interior witnessed various post reshuffles following Egyptian President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi’s meeting with security officials.

The reshuffle included the head of the national security General Mahmoud el-Shaa’rawy, the head of security in Giza governorate General Hisham al-Iraqi, head of security administration in the same governorate General Ibrahim al-Masri and the head of the special operations in the central security administration.
