CAIRO – 27 April 2017: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi inspected some of the newly-built housing units in New Ismailia, a city in the north-east of Egypt, accompanied by many ministers, according to a press release from the presidency, Thursday. This came on the margin of the third round of Egypt’s National Youth Conference (NYC), which is held for three days starting Tuesday, April 25.

Sisi attended a detailed explanation by Major General Kamel Al Wazir regarding the initial phase of the new city’s construction. He illustrated that it was built over an area of 2,800 feddans (feddan= 1.038 acres), providing a total of 52 thousand housing units, 22 thousand of which have been established.

President Sisi spoke with the officials and laborers working on the project, and stressed the need to complete the construction work on schedule.

Director of the Armed Forces Officers Clubs and Hotels Nabil Salama received the President at Al-Fayrouz Club in New Ismailia where he gave a presentation about the club. He mentioned it was established on an area of 90 feddans, and offers various social and recreational services to citizens.

The first conference was held in Sharm El-Sheikh in October 2016, while the second took place in Aswan in January 2017.
