RAMALLAH - 24 February 2018: Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) Secretary-General Saeb Erekat has stressed that the Palestinian cause will always remain an Arab top priority.

Erekat, in an interview with Russia Today on Saturday, refuted Israeli claims that the Arabs are now against the Palestinian stance.

Israel's claims that Arabs are no longer supporting the Palestinian cause are baseless, he added.

In December, US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley had made it clear she would take note of all countries that would vote against Washington's decision to recognize al Quds as capital of Israel in order to cut aid to them, Erekat said. But Egypt submitted an Arab draft resolution on the very same day against the US decision, he noted.

Saudi Arabia, a US ally itself, also sent a letter to US President Donald Trump stressing that al Quds is a red line.

So did, the leaders of Jordan, the UAE, Iraq and Arab Maghreb nations, Erekat noted.
