CAIRO - 20 February 2018: The Observatory for Anomalous and Takfiri Fatwas of Dar al-Ifta warned that terrorist groups, topped by IS (Islamic State Terrorist group), would manipulate the Rohingya Muslim crisis in Myanmar to recruit more elements.

In a report issued Tuesday, the observatory cautioned that this would hamper international efforts to combat terrorism.

It said after IS lost most of its lands in Iraq, Syria and Libya, it may seek to infiltrate into south and southeastern Asia.

The observatory urged international organizations, topped by the United Nations and Security Council, to press Myanmar authorities to halt mass killings and vicious attacks against Rohingya Muslims.

It also called for offering all needed support for the Rohingya Muslims.
