CAIRO – 26 April 2017: The United States is considering banning passengers’ laptops flying from the UK, the Guardian reported on Tuesday.

According to the Guardian report, Trump’s administration considers the ban to be similar to the one already imposed in several Middle Eastern countries.

British officials are thinking that their U.S. counterparts are looking to extend the ban and prevent them from carrying any devices larger than a smartphone.

Trump’s administration explained in a press conference that the ban imposed after the emergence of confirmed information that terrorists favored smuggling explosive devices in various consumer items.

In March, the United States applied the ban on ten Middle Eastern countries such as Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Morocco, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates until the threat changes.
