CAIRO - 15 February 2018: Egypt's first shipment of medical assistance, including six hemodialysis devices and two water purification units, is scheduled to arrive in Burundi on Thursday.

In statements, Egyptian Ambassador in Bujumbura Abir Radwan said the medical equipment will be used in the two renal dialysis centers that will be established by Egypt in Burundi at a total cost of 2 million pounds.

According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), more than 7 million cases of malaria were recorded between January and October 2017 in Burundi, which has a population of just 11.5 million.
