CAIRO – 13 February 2018: Military Prosecutor’s office decided on Tuesday to jail former top auditor Hisham Geneina for 15 days pending ongoing slandering investigation.
Former top auditor Hisham Geneina was arrested by Egyptian security forces earlier today.
Geneina alleged that he acquires documents owned by the former Presidential candidate- now arrested pending military violations investigation- Sami Anan, that expose the Egyptian State violations after January 25 revolution.
Geneina threatened to publish the alleged documents in case legal procedures were taken against the former Chief of the General Staff. Anan Junior accused the former top auditor of slandering and spreading false information wrongly on the behalf of his father.
Geneina was a leading member in the former Chief of Staff of Armed Forces Sami Anan’s presidential campaign; before the latter was excluded from the race over charges he broke military codes by running for a political post without obtaining the necessary permissions, incitement against the army, and forgery of election documents.
