Former top auditor Hisham Genena arrested - Reuters

CAIRO - 13 February 2018: Former top auditor Hisham Genena has been arrested by Egyptian security forces on Tuesday, said Genena's daughter Nada told Reuters.

Nada added that 30 security personnel have taken her father from home, located at Cairo's suburb fifth settlement, afternoon, adding that she does not know her father's whereabouts.

No official statement has been issued yet confirming Genena's arrest.

Genena was a leading member in the former Chief of Staff of Armed Forces Sami Anan’s presidential campaign, before the latter was excluded from the race over charges he broke military codes by running for a political post without obtaining the necessary permissions, incitement against the army, and forgery of election documents.
