CAIRO - 10 February 2018: The official website of the Ministry of Defense published on Saturday a series of documentary films showing the capabilities of the armed forces in the different military departments with the hashtag “Protection of country is our mission”.

“Men who don’t fear death” is titled upon a documentary film showing the victories of Egyptian commandos and personnel. The film is recorded by Hamza, the son of Colonel Ahmed el-Mansy, commander of the Sa'ka Forces, or Thunderbolt Forces, who was killed during the clashes between Egyptian army forces and militants in a terror attack launched on an Egyptian armed forces checkpoint in Rafah, North Sinai.



Another documentary film screened samples of the national military industrial products, which are produced inside the factories of the Egyptian armed forces.



In another film, titled “Shield and Sword ", the Ministry of Defense showed the development and modernization of the armed forces and the readiness of army personnel to meet all challenges.



The capabilities of the Egyptian paratrooper forces are also shown in a documentary film.



The documentary film “Air Defense Forces: the Sky Guards" presented the air defense system in the Egyptian army, their training programs and the different types of radars.



Another documentary film was published about the efficiency and capabilities of navy commandos as well as the new frigates and rocket launchers.

The film also reviewed the operations conducted by the navy commandos and the naval blockade carried out by the naval forces in the training and operational activities.



Earlier Friday, Egyptian security forces launched a comprehensive and strategic operation, Sinai 2018, against terrorist hotbeds and criminal organizations in North Sinai, Central Sinai, the Delta region, Nile Valley and the Suez Canal’s surroundings. Operation Sinai 2018 comes within the framework of President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi’s mandate to the General Commander of the Armed Forces and Ministry of Interior, according to army spokesperson Tamer el-Refai's Facebook page. Sisi previously informed the General Commander of the Armed Forces that he is responsible to secure Egypt from terrorism, as well as drying funding paths and unraveling connections that enable terrorist attacks in Egypt, in three months.

Sisi commanded that a full and complete crackdown on terrorism be carried out within three months from his mandate and that full coordination is needed between all the country’s institutions to confront terrorism and all other related operations by extremists.

To execute the plan, the Egyptian armed forces and police have raised a state of high alert across different governorates.
