CAIRO – 3 February 2018: Arab League (AL) Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit will start on Sunday a two-day visit to Djibouti, which he will meet with President Ismail Omar Guelleh.

Arab League secretary general’s spokesman Mahmoud Afifi said in a statement on Saturday that the two sides are scheduled to discuss cooperation between the Arab League and Djibouti, the latest developments in the Horn of Africa region as well as means of fostering Arab-African cooperation.

The talks are also tackle the agenda of the upcoming Arab Summit, to be held in Riyadh in March, Afifi added.

Abul Gheit’s visit to Djibouti will be the first by an AL secretary general to the country since 2002, the spokesman noted.
