CAIRO - 28 January 2018: Egypt strongly condemned the terrorist attack that targeted a police checkpoint in the Afghan capital Kabul, leaving 100 persons dead and 158 others wounded.

In a statement on Sunday, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry expressed Egyptian people and government's support of the Afghan people in face of terrorism.

It expressed heartfelt condolences to families of the victims, wishing a speedy recovery to all wounded.

Such terrorist acts have nothing to do with Islam and its moderate values, it said, warning that their attempts to undermine security and stability in Afghanistan are doomed to fail.

Taliban's suicide attackers drove an ambulance laden with explosives past a police checkpoint in a secure zone in the center of Kabul on Saturday. (MENA)
