CAIRO – 20 April 2017: Earlier this day, Marsa Matrouh people paid the last respect to Haja Aziza Hamouda Mohamed Badr who was known as the oldest woman in the governorate died at the age of 110, after months of struggling with sickness.

The Funeral took place in Al-Fath mosque in the downtown after Zuhr prayer. Large number of people attended the funeral including city officials. Her children and grandchildren will receive condolence in their village Ezbet Awlad Abdel Gawad, Negila city, which lies 70 km south of Marsa Matrouh.

Haja Aziza gained fame when she participated in the 2014 presidential elections in Marsa Matrouh downtown, 70 km away from her home.

Haja Aziza is the daughter of the first parliamentarian from Marsa Matrouh governorate. Her son was a former parliamentarian as well.
