CAIRO – 18 April 2017: Easter, Sham el-Nessim and Tuesday witnessed a series of terrorists’ attempts to launch attacks which were all aborted by the security forces.

Terrorists always choose feasts to launch their cowardly attacks, based on this fact the security agencies were ready for them and succeeded to abort all their attack attempts.

Kafr Saad in Damietta governorate witnessed Tuesday morning violent clashes in addition to exchange of fire between Damietta’s security agencies and terrorists who escaped in a flat located in Mubarak Street. A security source stated that the exchange of fire happened during raiding a terrorist cell Tuesday morning leaving causalities.

The CID manager of Damietta Security Directorate Police General, Mohamed el-Ashmawy, declared that the fire exchange between the security forces and the terrorists’ cell resulted in the death of one terrorist, the injury of two police officers and the arrest of one terrorist.

A security source assured that El Sayed Sahla who lives in Ezbet El Lousy in Kafr Saad who was killed Tuesday is the one who planted the bomb in front of one of the wine shops from two weeks ago. The security forces announced that firearms, a large number of shotguns, explosive materials, cell phones’ sim cards and batteries were found in the terrorists’ flat.

The clashes lead to the injury of police officer Mohamed Abdulrahman as one of the terrorist shot his leg, police officer Abdallah el-Ebrashy was also shot in his chest and Emad Ramadan who was shot in his arm. The security agencies arrested the owner of the flat that the terrorists were using as their terror den.


It is worth mentioning that the security forces succeeded in the past few days to stop terrorist plot targeting series of churches. The Ministry of Interior stated that the security agencies arrested last Sunday 13 terrorists who were planning to target churches with explosions in the following days. The defendants were in possession of tons of explosives, landmines, war detonators and automatic weapons, according to the security statement.


The Interior Ministry said that the Muslim Brotherhood leaders abroad have ordered the formation of groups in the governorates of Damietta, Beheira, Alexandria and Kafr el-Sheikh to carry out a series of bombings and hostile acts against state institutions, governmental and Christian entities as well as a number of public figures and police officials to create chaos, instability and fuel internal strife. Police further discovered two farms in Beheira and Alexandria, where the terrorists established secret underground bunkers to manufacture explosive devices and store weapons and ammunition.
