CAIRO – 20 January 2018: Naser Fouad, chairman and CEO of St George Healthcare Group in Warrington, will be assigned on Saturday as the deputy lord lieutenant of Cheshire, a county in North West England.
Minister of Immigration Nabila Makram will witness the inauguration ceremony of Fouad’s inauguration.
He will wear the uniform of the British Army during the inauguration ceremony attended by Nasser Kamel, the current ambassador of Egypt to the United Kingdom and Makram.
The Deputy Lieutenant is nominated by the lord to assist with any duties as may be required. He should hold an English citizenship and should be an individual who has carried out notable efforts in the county in which he or she is appointed, Fouad told Egypt Today.
Fouad stated that he has been living in Cheshire since 1996, where he also began his practice as a psychiatrist. In 1999, he founded the first medical services company, St George, which has then developed into St George Healthcare Group, Warrington.
“In 2003, we established St. Mark Hospital Foundation, a charitable foundation, whose main objective is to provide any medical assistance and/or medical devices,” Fouad said. He added that this foundation does not only care for Egyptians but also provides assistance to the handicapped in the United Kingdom and Africa, in addition to the Syrian refugee camps in Jordan, Greece and the Middle East.
Fouad hailed President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi’s strategy in handling the country and expressed his optimism of Sisi’s presidency. “I support Sisi in all his policies,” he said.
In the United Kingdom, a Deputy Lieutenant is a Crown appointment and one of several deputies to the Lord Lieutenant of a lieutenancy area.
