Agriculture min. takes part in GFFA meetings in Berlin

CAIRO - 18 January 2018: Agriculture Minister Abdel Monem el Bana takes part on Thursday in the 10th Global Forum for Food and Agriculture (GFFA), due to be held in Berlin during January 18 through 21.

Bana told reporters before leaving for Berlin that this year’s edition of the conference will be held under the rubric "Shaping the Future of Livestock - sustainably, responsibly, efficiently”, pointing out that he is set also to take part in 10th Berlin Agriculture Ministers' Conference that will be held on the sidelines of the forum.

About 90 agriculture ministers from all over the world are expected to participate in the forum, providing a good platform for exchanging expertise and discussing the latest agricultural techniques, researches and leading experiences which would contribute to achieving food security as well as promoting investment opportunities and mega national projects aimed to achieve development in Egypt, Bana said.

He noted that he is scheduled to meet, on the fringe of the conference, with his German, French and Ukrainian counterparts to mull means to boost bilateral agricultural cooperation as well as benefiting from the successful agricultural policies adopted by their countries.

The Egyptian minister will also take part in the International Green Week Exhibition (IGW) in Berlin as well as Fruit Logistica Berlin 2018 exhibition, the world leading fair of the international fruit trade in which a large number of firms operating in the agricultural field from about 100 countries take part.

Egypt’s participation in Fruit Logistica exhibition constitutes a good opportunity for promoting the Egyptian agricultural products and boosting chances to export them to more international markets.
