CAIRO – 16 January 2018: No applicant shall be eligible for appointment at governmental bodies unless he/she undergoes a training program at the National Academy for Youth Training, Minister of Planning, Follow-up and Administrative Reform Hala el-Said announced in press remarks Saturday.

President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi issued in August an official decree to establish a national academy to empower young people and instill leadership values in them, with a focus on character development and other necessary life skills.

The academy’s headquarters is located in 6 October city; it includes six buildings and is established on an area of 10,000 square meters.

The academy falls directly under the supervision of the presidency; its board of trustees will be headed by the prime minister and will include representatives from the presidency, the ministries of higher education, planning, and finance, and a number of distinguished figures.

The academy’s formation was one of the main recommendations of the first Youth Conference that was held in November 2016 in Sharm El-Sheikh.
