CAIRO – 13 January: About 93 percent of Egyptians rejected U.S. President Donald Trump's decision to transfer the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem, Magued Osman, director of the Egyptian Center for Public Opinion Research Baseera, stated in a press conference on Saturday held at the Syndicate Of Journalists headquarters in Cairo.

Osman added that 6 percent of Egyptians expressed their lack of knowledge, noting that Trump’s decision allowed many Egyptians to see that the U.S. is a hostile state, and that it does not support peace and will result in more terrorism in the region.

He also said that the centre has asked the Egyptian people about their opinion on whether they see the U.S. as a friendly or hostile country three times; the first was in May 2015, the second was in July 2016 and the third was in August 2017. Statistics revealed that 62 percent of Egyptians believe that America is an anti-peace nation.
