CAIRO – 5 January 2017: Assistant to the Interior Minister and security managers reviewed all services and security facilities located near churches to secure the coming Christmas festivities.

The assistant of Interior Minister stressed the importance of expanding security services and remaining vigilant. He also pointed out the importance of dealing immediately and decisively with any attempt to disturb the celebrations of citizens.

He also issued orders to the police guards to tighten security outside churches and to inspect accurately whoever enters a church. He also ordered them to make sure that everyone passes through the electronic gates of the church.

Before the beginning of New Year’s Eve celebrations, the Interior Minister, Magdi Abdel Ghaffar, instructed the security services in a meeting to implement measures to protect churches and vital state facilities, MENA news agency reported.

Ghaffar stated that the Ministry of Interior will not tolerate any actions that violate the law, and will not hesitate to deal with violators, perpetrators and all those who seek to jeopardize the security and safety of the country’s citizens with utmost firmness.
