CAIRO – 28 December 2017: "The government approved on Thursday the unified planning law, which is the first of its kind since the issuance of the 2014 Constitution," announced Minister of Planning Hala el-Said in a press conference at the Cabinet’s headquarters.

Said also pointed out that the law comes in line with the state’s policies to push towards and generalize decentralization.

"As part of the national vision of the Economic Sustainable Development Plan 2030, the new planning law encourages innovation as it pushes towards a more competitive and diverse economy, under the country’s current framework," Said added.

The law further assures equal disbursement of government funding among the country’s provinces, contending that it offers provincial governors flexibility in terms of spending government funds to give more space to the stalled development projects to grow and evolve.
