Afghan forces thwart car bombing, coordinated attacks in Jalalabad city

KABULK - 26 December 2017: Afghan national defense and security forces have foiled a plan to carry out a series of attacks in Jalalabad city, the provincial capital of eastern Nangarhar province in Afghanistan, Khaama Press reported Tuesday.

In a statement, the provincial government media office said a vehicle-borne Improvised Explosive Device (VBIED) and eight motorcycles packed with explosives were discovered and defused before the militants manage to use for a series of attacks in Jalalabad city.

According to the governor’s office, at least two Taliban insurgents were also killed during the operation and three suspects were arrested.
