CAIRO – 26 December 2017: “UAE nationals can travel to Chile without prior visa, effective December 16”, the UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation announced on Monday.

Anwar Gargash, UAE’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, revealed that UAE nationals are eligible to enter up to 138 countries without a prior-visa, after signing a visa-waiver deal with Chile.

“Good reputation of the UAE and success of its leadership has facilitated our mission in allowing our nationals to fly across the world,” Gargash wrote on his official Twitter account on Monday.

The UAE and the Republic of Chile signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on November 12 to exempt Emirati and Chilean nationals, holders of ordinary passports, from obtaining pre-entry visas while travelling to both countries.

“UAE citizens can now enter Chile without pre-entry visa and stay up to 90 days,” Assistant Under-Secretary for Consular Affairs at the Ministry, Ahmed Saeed Ilham Al Dhaheri, said.

He added that the signing of the MoU would further strengthen cooperation between both countries in tourism, trade and investment.
