Parl't speaker asserts keenness on freedom of journalism, media in Egypt

CAIRO - 24 December 2017: Parliament Speaker Ali Abdel Aal asserted keenness on protecting freedom of journalism and media in Egypt, he said during a general session of the parliament on Sunday.

Abdel Aal added that the freedom of enlightened and responsible journalism and media are essential for having a free democratic society.

He noted that there are some violations by some journalists and media people, that need to be dealt with in the proper way by the Supreme Council for Media Regulation, the National Authority of Journalism and the National Media Authority in accordance with the provisions of the law and the constitution.
