CAIRO -14 March 2017: Minister of Education Tarek Shawky headed to Senegal Monday to participate in the 2017 Triennale of the Association for the Development of Education in Africa (ADEA), taking place March 14-17 in Dakar,

Shawky is set to speak at the opening session of ADEA, which will be attended by African educational ministers, representatives of development cooperation agencies and representatives of civil society, youth and the private sector.

This year’s ADEA Triennale, formerly Biennale, is held under the theme of “Revitalizing education towards the 2030 Global Agenda and Africa’s Agenda 2063.” It aims to provide opportunities for the participants to share experiences and insights to collectively design new strategies for developing the educational sector in Africa.

Since 1991, ADEA has organized nine biennale meetings and held its first triennale in 2012 in Burkina Faso.
