CAIRO – 20 December 2017: Israeli forces arrested on Tuesday 17-year-old Palestinian activist Ahed al-Tamimi and her mother.
Ahed’s father, Bassim al-Tamimi wrote on his Facebook page, that the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) beat his wife and children, confiscated all their mobile phones, computers and cameras, and arrested Ahed.
Israeli soldiers arrested Ahed in her family home with charges of humiliating the Israeli army. Ahed published a video on her Facebook page on Friday, showing her expelling two soldiers from the yard in front of her family house; the video shows her slapping, kicking and pushing one of the soldiers.
According to Wafa news agency, the soldiers invaded the house and shot Ahed’s younger brother Mohammed al-Tamimi on Friday. The 15-year old Mohammed is now suffering from a bullet injury from the Israeli bullet that penetrated his face and settled under his brain.
In another post on Tuesday, Tamimi said that Ahed’s mother, Nariman, was also arrested on her way to the police station. On Wednesday, Tamimi wrote another post saying that the Israeli forces raided Nagi al-Tamimi’s house and arrested his daughter Nour, Ahed’s cousin.

In 2012, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan bestowed a medal on Ahed, as she appeared in a video shouting angrily at Israeli soldiers following the arrest of her brother Waad al-Tamimi.
The Israeli Forces had arrested Ahed, Mohammed and Waad several times, while Bassim and Nariman were arrested nine and five times, respectively, according to media sources.
Israeli troops shot dead four Palestinians and wounded 150 others with live fire on Friday, medical officials said the violence came as a result of protests over U.S. President Donald Trump's recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital.
