Egypt's Mufti attends international conference in Azerbaijan

CAIRO - 20 December 2017: Egypt's Mufti Shawqi Allam left on Wednesday for the Azeri capital Baku to take part in an international conference on "the importance of union at the time of crises" sponsored by Azeri President Ilham Aliyev.

Allam's participation comes at an invitation from the head of the Baku-based Administration of Muslims of the Caucasus

The conference comes as part of the proceedings of the "Year of Solidarity" launched by Aliyev.

Egypt's Mufti is scheduled to deliver a speech at the conference which is held over two days in the presence of Azeri President.

Azerbaijan senior state officials, representatives of the international organizations and members of the diplomatic corps will take part in the conference.
