CAIRO – 5 April 2017: Egyptian Minister of Education Tarek Shawky announced Tuesday that schools across the nation will be off for two days during Pope Francis’ visit to Egypt on April 28-29,

Schools may not schedule any exams or tests on the days Francis will be visiting, particularly Catholic schools, according to the statement.

The decision comes based on the willingness of Christian students to participate in the welcoming celebrations for Pope Francis.
