CAIRO – 16 December 2017: Egyptian President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi will meet on Saturday with French Defense Minister Florence Parly, to discuss ways of boosting defense and military cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting, which will be held at the presidential palace, aims to intensify coordination between the two states to help face common challenges, atop of which is the threat of terrorism.

The meeting will tackle military and security cooperation between the two countries and recent developments in the region, especially related to Lebanon, Syria and Palestine.

The president will also meet European Union Commissioner for Migration and Home Affairs, Dimitris Avramopoulos.

The meeting is set to discuss ways to deal with illegal migration from the Middle East and to aid in Egyptian cooperation with Europe, to secure its borders and fight terrorism.
