Woman who refused abortion gives birth to a boy with Cerebral hemorrhage

Cairo – 3 April 2017: An Egyptian mother from El Behira governorate refused to abort and eventually gave birth to a child with brain atrophy, leaving him completely blind,

reported Saturday.

The mother was warned by doctors that her pregnancy would result in a disabled child but she decided not to abort him, the report added.

“I have nothing to possess in life, however, I will keep fighting for finding my child decent and necessary treatment,” the mother told Youm7.

Abortion is completely rejected in Islam unless the mother’s life is at risk.
Former Undersecretary of the Ministry of Religious Endowments, Sheikh Shawki Abdel Latif, told Egypt Today on Sunday that aborting a child suspected of being disabled is acceptable before the fetus is four months old – “before he has a soul.” After four months, the mother has to keep her pregnancy.
