STRASBOURG - 13 December 2017: A delegation representing the Egyptian parliament met with representatives of political parties at the European parliament.

The delegation led by head of the Egyptian House of Representatives' Foreign Relations Committee Tarek Radwan met with the head of the Foreign Relations Committee at the European parliament.

The delegation invited officials of the European parliament to visit Egypt.

The two sides discussed the latest regional and international developments, including the Palestinian issue in light of US President Donald Trump's decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and move the embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

In a press statement, the two sides discussed the European role in facing terror-sponsoring countries, especially Qatar and Turkey.

The two sides criticized Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's continued support of terrorist groups.

Talks tackled political, security and economic challenges facing Egypt, progress achieved as regards human rights file in Egypt, fighting illegal immigration, anti-terror war, efforts to develop education and healthcare as well as energy projects.

The European side underlined the importance of continuing dialogue to boost bilateral relations.

They expressed appreciation for Egypt's role in fighting terrorism and extremism.
