CAIRO – 10 December 2017: Eight defendants affiliated to the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood group remained in custody for 15 days pending investigations over charges of forming a movement to incite violence and protests.

Prosecutors accused perpetrators of joining an organization built upon violating provisions of the law, aiming at interrupting work process, preventing state institutions and general authorities from doing their jobs.

The movement is also accused of attacking people’s personal freedoms, abusing national unity and social peace, attacking army and police personnel and installations to destabilize the general regime and risk society’s peace and security. Investigations revealed that perpetrators use terrorism to implement their purposes.

Security bodies spotted schemes by the Muslim Brotherhood to make use of public rage following the decision of U.S. President Donald Trump of moving the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem to destabilize Egypt’s stability.

The national security sector detected one of these defendants posting videos on the Internet in an attempt to ignite people to protest and incite violence against state institutions.
