Youth Loves Egypt foundation participates in UN Environment Assembly in Nairobi/Youth Loves Egypt foundation on Facebook

CAIRO – 10 December 2017: Youth Loves Egypt foundation concluded their participation in a UN Environment Assembly in Nairobi for a pollution-free planet.
The UN Assembly commenced from November 26 to December 6 with resolutions and pledges promising to improve the lives of billions across the globe by cleaning up air, land and water.

The Assembly was attended by African Environment Ministers as well as presidents of Ghana and Kenya that witnessed a high level of coordination with the Egyptian delegation.

Youth Loves Egypt foundation called on the international community to support the biodiversity conference which will be held in Egypt in 2018.

The Egyptian Foundation submitted some recommendations during the Assembly including solutions to stop using plastic and the necessity of establishing a network to face pollution that includes all African and Arab countries.

Youth loves Egypt stressed the need for teamwork and cooperation between the civil community as well as supporting qualified youth in dealing with environment issues in the future.

The assembly passed 13 non-binding resolutions and three decisions. Among them were moves to address marine littering and microplastics, preventing and reducing air pollution, cutting out lead poisoning from paint and batteries, protecting water-based ecosystems from pollution, dealing with soil pollution, and managing pollution in areas hit by conflict and terrorism.

The Assembly is also committed to increasing research and development, targeting pollution through tailored actions, moving societies towards sustainable lifestyles based on a circular economy, promoting fiscal incentives to move markets and promote positive change, strengthening and enforcing laws on pollution, and much more.

Youth loves Egypt is a national youth civil foundation working on promoting and maintaining tourism and the environment, encouraging and promoting cultural exchange training and rehabilitating youth for the labor market; holding cultural events, and educational activities for special needs children, beautifying and developing historic squares and parks and introducing protected areas all over Egypt.
