Pope Tawadros II tops Twitter hashtags Saturday

CAIRO - 9 December 2017: Pope Tawadros II has hit the list of Twitter hashtags on Saturday after he announced his apology for not receiving US Vice President Mike Pence during his scheduled visit in December.

The Orthodox Church Spokesperson earlier in the day announced that the apology comes in the wake of the US Administration's decision to consider Jerusalem as capital of Israel in breach of all relevant international resolutions and feelings of millions of Arab peoples.

The spokesperson said that the Church is praying for all the parties and would be rational in handling issues which affect peace of the peoples in the Middle East region and wished that all peoples could live in prosperity and peace.
