CAIRO - 7 December 2017: A Russian Delegation arrived in Cairo on Thursday to prepare for the visit of President Vladimir Putin to Cairo in the upcoming days, according to security forces at Cairo International Airport.

The delegation of 35 Russian officials arrived on board a private plane from Moscow to prepare for Putin's visit, review its program and arrange for meetings scheduled to be held with the Russian president.

At Cairo International Airport, the delegation was greeted by a number of diplomatic and security leaders.

On September 5, President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi invited Putin to attend the final signing ceremony of the Dabaa power plant in Egypt, and Putin announced that he accepted the invitation. Prime Minister Sherif Ismail announced that the foundational stone of the Dabaa nuclear power plant would be laid soon.

Both leaders will attend the inauguration of the Dabaa plant located at the Mediterranean city of Dabaa in Marsa Matrouh, by the end of this year.

The plant is built on 55 square kilometers in Dabaa, Matrouh governorate; once completed, it will consist of eight reactors. Russia will build the first four reactors while the construction of the other four will be financed through international aid. Each reactor will produce 1,200 megawatts of energy.
