CAIRO – 28 March 2017: Egyptian Minister of Planning Hala al-Said discussed resuming plans to automate the government services system with Microsoft representatives Tuesday.

During the meeting, the minister also considered the automation of the public complaints system and the public human resources system, according to a press release from the ministry.

The automation process is the utilization of control systems to minimize human intervention and manual processes with the use of mechanized equipment to speed up the services provided.

The first phase of the plan, carried out by Microsoft, included the automatization of courts in Alexandria.

The automation process, which will accelerate services related to enforcing the law, will be implemented in all Egyptian as the plan proceeds through the next phases.

Moreover, a digital system to measure indicators of government performance will be developed as part of the plan.

The plan aims at easing the provision of government services to citizens, while boosting monitoring and evaluation processes.
